A Makom Torah in the Heart of Cedarhurst, In memory of HaRav Shlomo Freifeld zt”l

For 30 years, Rav Avrohom Halpern worked side-by-side with his father-in-law, HaRav Shlomo Freifeld zt”l, in building the illustrious Sh’or Yoshuv Institute. For the past five decades, Rabbi Halpern has selflessly impacted all aspects of Jewish life in the Five Towns & Rockaway communities.

In 2015, Rabbi Halpern embarked on the next phase of his mission: To build a Makom Torah and Tefillah in the heart of our community. Yeshiva Ner Shlomo is the culmination of this dream. It’s the embodiment of Rabbi Halpern’s vision to establish a full-day Torah learning program that’s just a heartbeat away from the hustle-and-bustle of Cedarhurst’s Central Avenue. It’s a place where Kollel avreichim, Yeshiva students, and a diverse group of Five Towns residents unite every day to create a rich Kol Torah that resonates through the four walls of this magnificent Bais Medrash.

In Yeshiva Ner Shlomo, Rabbi Halpern has created a warm, welcoming place where people of all walks of life can come to warm their souls with the radiance of Torah.

In his unassuming manner, Rav Avrohom Halpern has been a mainstay of our community, cultivating generations in the glory of Torah. His encouragement and profound wisdom have changed the lives of so many families who continually turn to him for advice, direction, and guidance.
